Vnitrozemská vodní cesta (v legislativní zkratce jen vodní cesta) je podle českého zákona o vnitrozemské plavbě (č. 114/1995 Sb.) každý vodní tok nebo jiná vodní plocha, na kterých je možné provozovat plavbu, tj. provozovat plavidlo.
