Pyl je soubor drobných samčích pohlavních buněk semenných rostlin. Samotná samčí buňka kvetoucích rostlin se nazývá pylové zrno (granum pollinis). Barva pylu bývá velmi často žlutá nebo nažloutlá. Pyly se zabývá vědní disciplína palynologie. Pyl se objevil před 123 miliony let.
