Kardiostimulátor

Kardiostimulátor (anglicky pacemaker) je přístroj, zajišťující pravidelný, dostatečně rychlý srdeční rytmus elektrickými impulzy. Nejvíce je používán při dlouhodobém zpomalení srdeční činnosti (bradykardii), která ohrožuje pacienta ztrátou vědomí. Kardiostimulátor nahrazuje funkci převodního systému srdečního.
