Harém (arabsky حريم harîm = haram) je v arabské tradici část domu, zakázaná všem mužům kromě pána domu. Nejznámější a nejvelkolepější harémy bývaly v Osmanské říši. Slovo znamenalo soukromí a bylo velmi respektováno a ctěno.
