Gen

Gen (z řeckého γένος, genos – „rod, potomstvo, generace“) je základní jednotkou dědičnosti. Je to úsek DNA kódující specifickou bílkovinu. Podrobněji to je sekvence nukleotidů v DNA, která kóduje syntézu RNA a následně bílkovinu. Většina DNA se nachází uvnitř buněčného jádra.
