Uta-napishtim or Utnapishtim (Akkadian: 𒌓𒍣, "he has found life") was a legendary mortal king of the ancient city of Shuruppak in southern Iraq who, according to the Gilgamesh flood myth, survived the Flood by making and occupying a boat.
