Shan is the native language of the Shan people and is mostly spoken in Shan State, Myanmar. It is also spoken in pockets in other parts of Myanmar, Northern Thailand, Yunnan, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and decreasingly in Assam and Meghalaya.
