Moshav: History & Measurement

A moshav (Hebrew: מוֹשָׁב; pl. מוֹשָׁבִים, moshavim, 'settlements' or 'villages') is a type of Israeli Jewish group cooperative agricultural community of individual farms pioneered by Labour Zionists. A resident or a member of a moshav can be called a "moshavnik" (מוֹשַׁבְנִיק). There is an umbrella organization, the Moshavim Movement.
