Levice (pronunciationⓘ; Slovak pronunciation: ; Hungarian: Léva, Hungarian pronunciation: ; German: Lewenz) is a town in western Slovakia. The town lies on the left bank of the lower Hron river. The Old Slavic name of the town was Leva, which means "the Left One".
