Kankan: History, Geography & Regions

Kankan (Mandingo: Kánkàn; N’ko: ߞߊ߲ߞߊ߲߫) is the largest city in Guinea in land area, and the second largest in population, with a population of 410,542 people as at the Census of 1 July 2025. The city is located in eastern Guinea about 555 kilometres (345 miles) east of the national capital Conakry.
