John Baines (Egyptologist): Research & Career

John Robert Baines (born 17 March 1946) is a retired British Egyptologist and academic. From 1976 to 2013, he was a Professor of Egyptology at the University of Oxford and a fellow of The Queen's College, Oxford. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and has held numerous visiting professorships internationally.
