Gyrus

In neuroanatomy, a gyrus (pl.: gyri) is a ridge on the cerebral cortex. It is generally surrounded by one or more sulci (depressions or furrows; sing.: sulcus). Gyri and sulci create the folded appearance of the brain in humans and other mammals.
