Guy Maddin CM OM (born February 28, 1956) is a Canadian screenwriter, director, author, cinematographer, film editor, and installation artist. He is known for his incorporation of Silent-era film aesthetic into his work. Maddin was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2012.
