Chitimacha

The Chitimacha (/ˈtʃɪtɪməʃɑː/ CHIT-i-mə-shah; or /tʃɪtɪˈmɑːʃə/ chit-i-MAH-shə) are an Indigenous people of the Southeastern Woodlands in Louisiana. They are a federally recognized tribe, the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana.
