Závod je organizační forma jednorázové sportovní soutěže. Závody se vypisují v individuálních sportech. V závodě soutěžící obvykle zkoušejí dosáhnout určitých úkolů v co nejkratším čase. Nejběžnější závod představuje překonávání určité vzdálenosti, ale mohou to být i jiné úkoly vyžadující rychlost.
