Zákoník neboli kodex je právní předpis zahrnující právní normy určitého právního odvětví. V moderním slova smyslu jde především o komplexní úpravu určité oblasti hmotného práva, protože v právu procesním je obdobou zákoníku řád (angl. rules of procedure, franc. régles de procédure, něm. Prozessordnung).
