Tribut

Tribut (latinsky tributum) je platba (finanční nebo naturální) placená vládcem jiným panovníkům. Nejčastěji tak každoročně platil závislý vládce (kmene neboli tribu) svému lennímu pánovi (například králi, nebo císaři). V minulosti také tribut platily například státy poražené ve válkách svému pokořiteli.
