Tetanus (strnutí šíje) je nebezpečné onemocnění způsobované bakterií Clostridium tetani. Projevuje se křečemi a ztrátou koordinace svalových pohybů (která je způsobena tím, že toxiny produkované bakteriemi blokují uvolňování svalového stahu). Bez lékařské pomoci (antibiotika, sérum) končí zpravidla smrtí v důsledku zástavy srdce nebo kolapsu dýchací…
