Synchrotron

Synchrotron je konkrétní druh kruhového urychlovače částic, ve kterém je magnetické pole a elektrické pole určitým způsobem synchronizováno s „prolétajícími“ částicemi. Byl původně vyvinut Luisem Walterem Alvarezem pro studium vysokoenergetické jaderné fyziky. Jeden z nejvýkonnějších je například Large Hadron Collider.
