Sumace označuje sčítání množiny čísel. Výsledek se označuje jako suma. Jako čísla v sumaci přitom mohou vystupovat nejenom čísla (např. přirozená, komplexní apod.), ale také funkce, matice, popř. jiné matematické struktury. Součet prvků nekonečné posloupnosti se označuje jako řada.
