Štětec je malířské náčiní sloužící k nanášení barvy na podkladový materiál (papír, plátno, stěnu atd.). Je tvořen svazkem štětin nebo jiných zvířecích chlupů, nazývaných "vlas" (dnes často i umělého vlákna) upevněných v rukojeti (násada+zděř, nebo třeba bambus).
