Slanost (salinita) označuje obecně podíl minerálních látek (solí) rozpuštěných v roztoku (obvykle ve vodě). Ve smyslu fyzikální veličiny se nejčastěji jedná o hmotnostní koncentraci (udávanou zpravidla v gramech na litr) nebo o hmotnostní zlomek (udávaný zpravidla v promile – ‰, někdy vyjadřovaných jako g/kg).
