Rys (rod)

Rys (Lynx) je rod středně velkých kočkovitých šelem severní polokoule. Mezi typické znaky rysů patří licousy, štětičky na ušních boltcích, krátký ocas, dlouhé nohy a 28 zubů (oproti 30 běžných u většiny jiných koček). Celkem se u rysů uvádí dvanáct unikátních evolučních znaků (synapomorfií).
