Pitulník (Galeobdolon) je rod vytrvalých, žlutě kvetoucích bylin z čeledi hluchavkovitých. Areál rodu zahrnuje Evropu (mimo její nejsevernější a nejjižnější oblasti), Malou Asií a podhůří Kavkazu. Rod vznikl poměrně nedávno vyčleněním z rodu hluchavka, od kterého se mj. odlišuje těmito morfologickými znaky:
