Oxymóron

Oxymóron (z řeckého ὀξύμωρος, spojením oxys „ostrý“ + móros „tupý“), někdy též protimluv, je v lingvistice spojení slov, jejichž význam se navzájem vylučuje – např. „ohlušující ticho“, „svítání na západě“ (Otokar Březina). Při striktním výkladu použitých slov by oxymóron tvořilo logický spor, paradox.
