Omomyoidea představují nadčeleď pravých primátů (euprimátů). Společně s adapoidními primáty (Adapoidea) patří mezi nejstarší známé euprimáty. Tato skupina se ve fosilním záznamu poprvé objevuje ve spodním eocénu, úspěšně se vyvíjela v průběhu celého eocénu a vymizela až ve spodním oligocénu.
