Modem

Modem je zařízení pro převod mezi analogovým a digitálním signálem. Modem je zkratkové slovo z výrazu „modulátor demodulátor“. Modemy se používají především pro přenos digitálních dat pomocí analogové přenosové trasy. Přenosová trasa může být telefonní linka, koaxiální kabel, radiový přenos apod.
