Markomani

Markomani byli germánský kmen, který se na přelomu letopočtu usadil severně od Dunaje, na území dnešní České republiky. Pod vedením svého vůdce Marobuda zde vybudovali mocnou říši, která se stala sousedem Římské říše, jejíž Limes Romanus byl na toku řeky Dunaje. Podle Tacita a Strabóna patřili ke konfederaci germánského kmene Svébů.
