Mareograf je přístroj, který na pobřeží zaznamenává výšku mořské hladiny. Přístroj pomocí systému kladek reaguje na změny výšky vodní hladiny a ty pak zaznamenává. Pro správnou funkčnost mareografu je nutné mít v jeho blízkosti nivelační body o známé nadmořské výšce.
