Karbon

Karbon je geologický útvar prvohor (paleozoikum) a jde tedy také o součást eónu fanerozoika. Počátek karbonského útvaru je kladen 354 milionů let (Ma) zpět do minulosti a jeho spodní hranice je vymezena nástupem druhu Siphonodella sulcata, což je drobný konodont (Conodonta).
