Jazykovití (Soleidae) jsou čeleď platýsů. Zástupci této skupiny žijí v mořských a brakických vodách východního Atlantiku, Indického oceánu a západního a centrálního Pacifiku. Sladkovodní druhy se vyskytují v Africe, jižní Asii, na Nové Guineji a v Austrálii.
