Hypocentrum (z řeckého slova υπόκεντρον – pod centrem) je bod v prostoru, určující přesné místo výskytu nějaké mimořádné události. Jeho kolmý průmět na zemský povrch je označován za epicentrum. Nejčastěji se tento pojem používá v souvislosti se zemětřesením či mohutným výbuchem (např. jaderným).
