Basso continuo, zkráceně continuo, také číslovaný bas, nebo generální bas (francouzsky: basse chiffrée, německy: Generalbass) je způsob vytváření (realizace) harmonické struktury skladby, při němž nástroj nebo skupina nástrojů hraje basovou linii a nad ní improvizuje harmonii podle číselných údajů skladatele.
