Akolyta je v některých křesťanských denominacích osoba, která vykonává obřadní povinnosti a může vést bohoslužbu slova. V jiných křesťanských církvích je tento termín používán speciálně pro kandidáty kněžství. Před reformou provedenou Pavlem VI. byl akolytát v římskokatolické církvi nejvyšším z nižších svěcení.
