Franco-Provençal

Franco-Provençal, also known as Arpitan or Patois, is a Gallo-Romance language that originated and is spoken in eastern France, western Switzerland, and northwestern Italy; since the 13th century a Franco-Provençal language island in southern Italy has survived too.
